Advocacy

Advocacy at IRCNOCO

At the Immigrant and Refugee Center of Northern Colorado (IRCNOCO), advocacy is an essential part of our mission to empower immigrants and refugees. Beyond direct services, we work to ensure that systems, policies, and communities reflect the dignity, resilience, and contributions of the people we serve.

What We Stand For

IRCNOCO advocates for fair and inclusive policies that promote opportunity, equity, and belonging for all. We believe that every person—regardless of immigration status—deserves access to education, healthcare, housing, and pathways to economic independence.

Our Advocacy Focuses on:

  • Language and Education Access – Promoting English, digital literacy, and citizenship opportunities for all learners.

  • Workforce Inclusion – We connect with employers to identify opportunities for our clients and help both employers and participants understand the benefits and responsibilities of successful employment.

  • Legal and Civic Participation – Encouraging naturalization, voter engagement, and legal protection for immigrant families.

  • Community Belonging – Building understanding between newcomers and long-time residents through dialogue and cultural exchange.

How We Take Action

We collaborate with local, state, and national partners to advance immigrant and refugee rights through:

  • Policy Education & Cultural Awareness – Promoting understanding, inclusion, and cultural humility.

  • Community Events – Highlighting immigrant and refugee voices and encouraging their active participation.

  • Coalition Partnerships – Working with organizations and agencies to strengthen support networks.

  • Advocacy with Decision-Makers – Sharing real stories from our community to inform policies and practices.

Get Involved

You can join IRCNOCO in advocating for a more inclusive Northern Colorado by:

  • Sharing Your Story – Help raise awareness and amplify immigrant and refugee voices.

  • Attending Events – Participate in community forums, workshops, and educational programs.

  • Partnering with Us – Collaborate to make Northern Colorado a welcoming place for everyone.

  • Donating – Support our programs and help us create opportunities for immigrants and refugees.

Together, We Build Belonging

Advocacy is not only about policy—it’s about people. By lifting up immigrant and refugee voices, IRCNOCO helps create a community where everyone can thrive, contribute, and belong.
