What is COVID-19?

  • COVID-19 is a virus in the family of viruses known as “coronaviruses.”

  • Officially SARS-Cov-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus 2) caused COVID-19.

  • Originated in Wuhan, China but is currently in 155 countries or regions.

  • The virus is currently spreading exponentially, with the doubling rate of 4 days in the United States.

SYMPTOMS
Can take up to two weeks to demonstrate symptoms; high transmission early on without symptoms.
Fever and a dry cough are usually first symptoms.
