Opportunities for Volunteering
There are many different positions you can volunteer for with IRCNOCO. Listed below are some descriptions of those positions that will assist you in the volunteer application form further down the page. You can volunteer for whichever day or days fit your schedule on a consistent weekly basis. If you need a flexible volunteer role check out our Food Truck option below.
Little Learners Classroom Volunteers
Work with our Little Learners Coordinator in either our Pre-K or Elementary age classrooms for the semester. Help lead or assist with activities including games, free play, art making, story time, music, and more.
Class One is Tuesday–Thursday from 8:15–10:45 am.
Class Two is Monday–Thursday 10:45 am–1:15 pm.
Class Three is Monday and Wednesday night 5:15–8:30 pm.
Little Learners at School District 6 Family Center
Our off-site Little Learners opportunities through our collaboration with school District 6 are listed below.
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 4:15-6:00 pm
Tuesday and Thursday nights 5:45–7:45 pm
Saturday morning 8:45-12:15 pm

ESL Adult Classroom Assistant
Assist our IRCNOCO teachers in the adult ESL classrooms. We offer classes ranging from English Level 0–5, High school Equivalency Bridge class and Citizenship classes. For adult ESL classroom placements we ask that you commit to at least one consistent class per week for the semester. Volunteer placements are limited in our classrooms, email Joni at email@example.com for questions.
Morning classes are Tuesday–Thursday from 8:30–10:30 am.
Afternoon classes are Monday–Thursday 11:00 am–1:00 pm.
Evening classes are Monday and Wednesday night 5:30–8:30 pm.
Work one-on-one or in groups assisting students who are looking for additional help with conversation partners, computer literacy training, studying for citizenship, etc. Interested tutors go on a wait list and are matched with students based on request, subject, and availability on a case by case basis. Citizenship tutoring requires training with our Tutor coordinator before placements can begin.
You do not need to sign up or complete a background check or orientation to volunteer at the Food Truck, you can just show up and help out! The general duties of this position include handing out food or goods, and requires lifting, following safety protocol, being outdoors, and standing for a few hours. Additional language skills are helpful too. Volunteers should commit to being there from 9:45–Noon (or until everything is cleaned up). Groups of up to 15 people can come together, but they must sign up beforehand.
Meets on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month at the old IRCNOCO site at the First United Methodist Church parking lot: 917 10th Ave, Greeley, CO 80631.

Little Learners at D6 from 4:15-6:00 pm
Little Learners at IRCNOCO Tuesday or Thursday 8:15-10:45 am and 10:45-1:15 pm
IT or Tech help, flexible schedule. We need help maintaining our computer lab and technology. Email Joni at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.

Step 2: Background Check
We do require a background check on all of our volunteers. If you know that you want to volunteer you can go ahead and complete the background check now. However, you are welcome to come to the orientation first and learn more about us before completing your background check. Once you decide you want to start volunteering then you can complete the background check. There is a $14 charge for the background check, if this causes any financial hardship please contact Joni Lopez at email@example.com for assistance.
Step 3: Attend a volunteer Orientation
Once you submit a volunteer application you will receive an invitation to attend upcoming volunteer orientations.
